NISE NANO EXHIBIT
Industrial Artisans fabricated, assembled, packaged and delivered ninety-three copies of the Nano Mini Exhibition, a 500 square foot exhibit exploring nano technology. The Science Museum of Minnesota designed the exhibit for the National Informal STEM Education Network with funding from the National Science Foundation. This exhibit was carefully constructed and packaged with transit and installation in mind and was distributed broadly to institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico. Since all ninety-three copies were distributed, the exhibit has been seen by over 40 million visitors. The exhibit elements included metal work, interactive components, exhibition signage and graphics, reading materials and audio description. Industrial Artisans cemented its reputation as a shop that can meet the demands that museum-quality fabrication requires while hitting very ambitious efficiency goals. On this large scale project, IA was able to demonstrate its clear expertise in combining specialized custom fabrication with a more industrial metal shop style of efficiency. By process engineering the build in inventive ways, IA was able to meet the client’s budget and timeline without sacrificing design choices or finish quality.
